A Visual Guide to Brave New World

Title Screen Level

Brave New World is a mostly-vanilla, glitch-heavy kaizo SMW hack. There are 10 levels with 5-8 one-screen rooms each, and 1 secret level (71 rooms total).

I was inspired after playing ABC_ore's Takumi V and Tatsujin Mario, and xHF01x's Studies of a Broken Engine; I wanted to explore these glitches with various setups.

I ended up creating a hack that showcases some glitches, and includes other technically-difficult kaizo tricks I enjoy doing.

Note that some rooms require the use of obscure glitches, so you may get stuck if you are not experienced with glitch hacks.

To help new and seasoned players understand how to clear each room, I have developed state-of-the-art "FOI" Technology (Figure-It-Oot):

There is also a companion video guide hosted here, with clear videos: https://derv.us/Guide.html

This should make looking up the clear video much easier for everyone, while still giving players a chance to figure it out blind.

You may find "unreachable" 3-Up Moons in a few rooms -- these are for an additional, optional challenge, and the moons are not required to beat the room.

Good luck, and I hope you enjoy playing Brave New World!

Level 11: Besides

This is the secret bonus level. These rooms did not fit in with the main levels, and offer an additional challenge.

I'd tell you where the secret exit is, but it's a secret. Maybe there's a hint in the credits.
